When it comes to interior painting , style is obviously important, but so is strategy. Your color and sheen selection can make your space of choice feel brighter, darker, shorter, taller, smaller, and even more open. It’s amazing, actually!
Unfortunately, however, most of the interior painting attention is stolen by the walls. This is for good reason, in part, but it also is important to consider the space over your head. That’s right: the ceiling.
There is no law of interior painting that says that your ceilings need to be a boring, bland color. Now, to be fair, sometimes white is the perfect choice, offering a bright, clean look.
The key here is that it doesn’t have to be.
So, how do you choose a new ceiling color? Here are a few tips:
Flat paint is the tried and true sheen. Sure, it’s not very durable, but the chances are good that nobody will be walking on your ceiling!
It is, however, a choice that is consistent, forgiving, and easy to apply/touch-up. It also is less reflective, offering an understated effect.
