You know, one of the most common exterior painting questions that homeowners grapple with is what color to choose. Refreshing an existing color is fairly straightforward, but the idea of completely changing course can be a little intimidating. Fun, but intimidating.
This particular Turlock home is a perfect, real-life example of one tip we can offer for finding your next paint scheme.
Are you ready for it?
Consider your fixed colors.
What Exactly Is a “Fixed Color” On Your House?
Great question! These are the colors that can’t be easily changed, like your existing roof color, chimney, or unique architectural features. Taking these elements into consideration can help you narrow the field since you’ll need to find a body color that plays well with those that are already there.
In this case, the stone needed to be taken into consideration. As you can see below, we changed this home to grey (SW6199 Rare Gray, to be exact). It’s a stylish, timeless look, and it also works very well with the existing stone. The trim, in case you’re interested, is L003 D30-3 Silver Feather. It adds a nice, subtle point of contrast.
