Everyone loves a great exterior. It sets the tone for first impressions, seals and protects your house, and offers some of the best opportunity for improving resale value.
When it comes to exterior painting, there’s no shortage of options. While there is great opportunity for adding to the beauty of your property, exteriors present their own set of challenges and opportunities.
In the Central Valley, staining and painting are a couple of must-haves for home exterior maintenance. This recent home in La Grange was no exception. Most of their exterior was suffering in one way or another, with sun damage and peeling being the primary culprit. They hired us to perform a complete painting overhaul on their split-level villa. The results will keep their property looking fresh for years to come!
We used a beautiful green-gray called California Sagebrush for the body of the home. Made by Dunn-Edwards, the paint is called Evershield, and it’s known for superior protection against UV rays. It finishes with a non-glossy velvet sheen.
For the trim, we applied a complementary dark gray called Charcoal Sketch. It stands out from the body of the house while staying in the same traditional color family. This was another Evershield paint, with the same finish as the siding.
For the fascia that wraps the eaves of the home, and for the gutters, we used a bright white called Tradewinds by Dunn-Edwards. We kept the same velvet finish to match the rest of the exterior.
In order to keep a wood-styled texture and make the deck and railing pop from the rest of the house, we used a rusty brown called Sequoia. This paint is made by Armstrong, and we used a semi-solid finish to keep the wood texture alive.
